Welcome! Thank you for being here! This week I want to share one of my favorite yoga practices, Yoga Nidra, and a little more about my personal yoga journey with you. Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation intended to invite us to rest and recharge. In this practice, we have the opportunity to experience a level of rest equal to a short nap. The practice creates space for us to rest and rejuvenate our bodies, minds, and spirits. It is truly one of my favorite practices to share and experience! The Yoga Nidra meditation incorporates a format that generally includes an initial relaxation, intention setting for the practice, rotation of consciousness, sense/breath awareness, connecting to the third eye/center of your intuition, a guided journey, and a return to the present. However, every practice (and practitioner) will have something unique to offer. During Yoga Nidra, you are invited to take whatever restful shape feels comfortable to you with as many cozy props as you would like. The meditation can range from a few minutes to over an hour, so it is adaptable to the time you have available. I look forward to sharing this practice with you next week! My Journey & Love for Yoga
My yoga journey has certainly not been linear. There are twists, turns, stops, and struggles throughout the path that I have taken. I came to yoga several times briefly in my teens, but the practice never truly reached me on a deeper level until years later. I was at a vulnerable point in my life where I did not always feel safe or love myself. Yoga brought me home to myself and created space for me to feel safe, to rest, and to be present. The practice opened my heart and encouraged me to love myself. Yoga helped remind me that I am enough just as I am, regardless of what I do or do not accomplish in life. We are all enough. We are all wonderful just as we are. This is why I want to share my practice with others.
